About the fabric:
Kalamkari is an ancient Indian art form that involves hand-painting or block-printing intricate designs on fabric using a pen (kalam) or wooden block.
Kalamkari is a labor-intensive craft that requires a high level of skill and patience. It can take several weeks or even months to complete a single piece of work, depending on the complexity of the design. Despite the time and effort required, Kalamkari is still practiced by a small number of artisans in India today, and the resulting textiles are highly prized for their beauty and craftsmanship.
